General Features

* True Driver’s Experience – A variety of visual cues delivers the true driver’s experience including a three-dimensional HUD that mimics driver head movement, inertia and G-forces. The depth of field also adjusts based on the speed of the car; so when the car is travelling at high speeds the perspective will shift to the distance putting the car/cockpit out of focus.
* Driver Profile – What kind of driver are you? Driver profile tracks the player’s evolution as a race driver from event to event. This system is made up of a driver’s personality on the track, their success rate and any profile points and badges accrued all of which work together to create a tailor-made career and gameplay experience. As bad luck would have it, the two meet just in time to witness Ahriman's release from his prison inside the Tree of Life. His escape releases corruption across the four areas of the world. This corruption will spread further unless the Prince and Elika can heal the infected lands. And so begins your adventure.

This is a story about love. Not the love between the Prince and Elika, but between you and Elika. She is your constant guide, able to cast a spell at any time to show you the path to your goal. Come across a gap too great for the Prince to leap? Elika can assist with a double-jump move. Want some help in combat? Elika patrols the arena, ready to attack at your command. Miss a ledge and about to fall to your death? No sweat. Elika will always save you. Elika teaches you about corruption and the battle between Ahriman and Ormazd, about the history of the four infected areas and the tragic tales of all four bosses you must battle. She's your greatest asset and far more likeable than the boorish Prince. If Elika were just a little bit more real or I was just a tad more insane, I'd marry her.

With Fable II, Peter Molyneux attempted to make us care so greatly for our dog that we would sacrifice everything to protect him. He didn't fully succeed. But Ubisoft Montreal got it right. Elika is so significant to the story and gameplay that I found myself caring far more for her safety than that of my own character, the Prince. And the real genius is that Elika is as easy to control as pressing a single button. That's all it takes. Double jumps, combat moves and magic with Elika are all assigned to one button. Her AI is perfectly designed so that she never takes the lead and never gets in the way. And that's saying something, considering how quickly the Prince moves about the world.

It was July 7th, 2011.
While investigating reports of unlawful weapons trafficking,
peacekeeping forces encountered an unclassified carnivorous
species occupying a small village in Northern Africa. These
rabid creatures were easily provoked and resistant to
conventional attack. Eight specimens were encountered in the
region now referred to as "Ground:ALPHA"... Only four were
successfully contained for study. Victims of the attack were
quarantined at a research facility nearby. These victims
displayed signs of internal liquefaction and accelerated
necrosis, similar to symptoms of other flesh-eating viruses
native to that region.
But it wasn't a viral outbreak. It was a parasitic
infestation. A previously unidentified species of hook worm
was found beneath the skin of the Ground: ALPHA specimens.
These parasites, we call them "Alpha-worms", laid dozens of
eggs inside their hosts, which in turn produced numerous
larvae. These larvae penetrated the bloodstream and triggered
a variety of genetic failures. However, unlike most genetic
failures, these symptoms were not fatal. Instead, infested
victims were larger, stronger and driven by hunger. Using the
research gained from the Ground: ALPHA specimens, a team of
some special individuals were assembled. Minor outbreaks
occurred over the next few years, but elite squad quickly put
them down. Which brings us to the current situation in
Tokyo...

* Rockstar have claimed the "modding community will be supported." Specifically in what ways is yet to be seen.
A great part of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the possiblity to modify it: Rockstar claims to have left important game data files unlocked and in text files as opposed to hard-coding them in the game. Although Rockstar lists "player modifications support" as a feature, it's safe to assume that Rockstar will not be providing any game editors with the game, and we can expect to be able to import additional player skins, probably in the form of clothes. Player models are at the moment split into around 10 different pieces, with two of each for different fitness levels. As such, player skins as seen in GTA Vice City are unlikely, unless we are provided with a custom slot with a single static mesh skin. Bear in mind that this is simply speculation at this point, as nothing solid has been confirmed yet.
It was decided that the PC version of San Andreas will not have an inbuilt 2-player mode as "the dual keyboard and mouse set up proved too unwieldy for players and didn't work with the PC version of San Andreas' greatly improved free camera mechanics. Rockstar North decided to focus on maximizing the single player experience."
